Earthy Eucharist
To view a chapter of this meditation, click on the following videos.
1. Earth, the Gift Given
Earth is a gift graciously given. A gift we’re invited to graciously accept. A gift we’re asked to cherish, and to share.
2. Reclaiming the Gift Rejected
We are called to turn destruction into creation, to turn life-taking into life-giving, to turn wasting into cherishing, to turn our taking into sharing.
3. Offering the Earth-Gift
We graciously accept the gift of the four and a half billion-year of ongoing creation of our Earth. We graciously accept the gifts of breathable air, drinkable water, and life-giving soil. We lift up all creation in offering and thanksgiving.
4. Blessing the Earth-Gift
We bless the Earth that gifts us with wheat and grapes. We bless the Divine Presence in the bread and wine. We bless the Divine Presence in each other, and in all the gifts of Earth.
5. Becoming Earth-Gift
In living the Eucharist we become Earth-gift. We share our blessings. We do our part in sustaining the Earth. We become a healing presence. We see all life as sacred.
